The Opportunity.
The goal is to feature and activate the OMEO wheelchair at the 2028 Paralympic Games. OMEO is a next generation, self-balancing mobility chair device that allows users to move intuitively through body control while maintaining a fully upright seated position, with an optional joystick. Its strong torque, responsive navigation, and maneuverability make it well-suited for large venues, varied terrain, and high-visibility environments.
Potential areas of integration at the Games include:
● Opening Ceremonies/Artistic Performances: As a featured innovation
moment or choreographed mobility showcase. We have a relationship with
AXIS Dance, which has experience choreographing with OMEO units, and
recording artist Jimmy Dunne has agreed to compose the music. We are open to facilitating the financials for this performance. AXIS Dance Feature withOMEO, Exploratorium Performance / NY Times Article
● Athlete Transportation: Provide accessible rental units for navigating theVillage and venue grounds. Additionally, athletes could opt for an OMEO instead of transporting their own devices.
● On-site Demonstrations & Activation Pop-Up: Design an interactive OMEO engagement experience for fans/athletes to showcasecreative advancementsin mobility technology and the importance of transportation independence. These could occur prior to, as a lead-up to, or during the Paralympics. Example Demo: Multiple OMEOs riding down Olympic Blvd to Muscle Beach, where they show the all-terrain capability in an exhibition with other athletes.
OMEO units are fully customizable, including event-aligned colorways and branding, enabling seamless integration into the Games' visual identity.
The OMEO28 Team would welcome the opportunity to discuss the feasibility, logistics, and creative integration in more detail. And, we'd be happy to demonstrate this idea in person.
